Pesaro Manuscript (I-PESo MS Pesaro 1144) The Pesaro Manuscript contains a number of pieces attributed to the 15th century, of which this is one of two written in the Neapolitan tablature. The guitar-type instrument known in Spain as the vihuela came to Italy in the 15th century, and numerous sources exist in Italy as the viola da mano, especially from the last two decades of the 15th century and the first two decades of the 16th century. * The Neapolitan tablature is also considered to be a notation for the Viola da mano. ** This contains 2 versions, for classical guitar with tablature and for lute or lute tuning guitar with tablature. Johann Friedrich Fibiger « Suite in G major » is from the manuscript « Princess Charlotte Amalie's Guitar Book, GKS 377 ». Fibiger was a guitar teacher of the princess Charlotte Amalie. The suite consist of Prelude, Allemanda, Courant, Saraband, Bourée l, Menuet, Bourée II, and Gig. Each piece is short and easy technically, but very rich musically. This suite can be a good experience before you attack to the big suites of Bach, Weiss, or de Visée… The file contains two versions; for 5-course baroque guitar with notes and french tablature and for 6-string classical guitar with notes and modern tablature.
